Dame Andralaine "Experiencing Andralaine is an Adventure" It all started for her June 11, 1983. "I was living in El Paso, TX. There was a boy next door I was friends with. He told me there were these people in the park fighting with padded weapons. The next week I visited them." Amtgard was only three months old at the time. She was so impressed, the weekend after, she attended garbed with weapon in hand. That same day she fought in the "Order of the Rose Tournament" and won! From then on, she was a full time Amtgardian and never once looked back. Since then, she has laid claim to the following titles: - First female Queen - First female Consort - First female Flame Knight - First Viscountess of Amtgard - She has also been Princess, Regent and Baroness. Among her many achievements, she started the Everfield group in Rising Winds. When asked about her persona, she replied, "Andralaine was a person I had made up for the SCA. She is everything I wish to be in the real world." Dame Andralaine spoke of the oldest surviving Household in Amtgard, the Amazons. She remarked that Esuom and herself started the household in order to give the women much-needed support. Later came Weilock, Mezzie and others. To this day, it is a strong household within the Amtgard community. Why does she stay in Amtgard? She answered, "Amtgard is one big bad party and I'm afraid if I leave, I'll miss something!" "The only advice I can give anyone just starting out is - It's only a game. Keep your mundane issues at home."
